Our Mixed Media Moods

From July 2016 to this month 2017 I have been a part of this online group of different amateur and YouTube artist where the host DeeDee Catron and Jenn Engle make up a mood board of 6 images based around a theme they make up and then they create videos with their creations and on the Facebook group you can see the mood board and create your own piece.

I really love these mood boards and the group because I really love the different designs of the mood board that DeeDee and Jenn come up with through the way that they can be interpreted in many different ways.

As you can see with all these mood boards they have very different styles to them making it a challenge every month to create something a different piece. Also, by watching the YouTube videos from both DeeDee and Jenn and sometime a guest host can also really inspire me to create pieces and the price can vary, they can go from a book page, to cards and two canvases. As well, the mood boards can be more challenging than the other, for example the March mood board for me was challenging through the way I'm not a really big fan of yellow so to use it was quite hard back overall I do feel that I was able to create a great piece.

Going on the Facebook group is really interesting to look through in the way there are so many different interpretations which to me makes this Mood Board challenge even more special to me through the way it can make people create so many different pieces.

These are two piece of work from the March mood board and as you can see the very different ways people have taken the mood board and create it them on.

Overall, I feel that this mood board and Facebook are a very interesting an important way to connect many different people which love making art and that's what I love in a way with technology through online groups because I can get to see these amazing pieces by people from many different countries and there an be some language differences but that doesn't even matter because the art that we make speaks for us. These mood boards have brought me out of my comfort zone and have opened my eyes to many different ways to create my home style work and I hope to be taking part in this for a long time.
